Risk Refraction: Thoughts on the Victim-Survivor’s Risk Journey through the Criminal Justice Process

چکیده
The limits of inter-agency understandings risk in the context intimate partner violence are well documented. Informed by Hester’s (2011) ‘three planet’ analogy and using empirical data one police force area south England, this paper offers an exploration intra-agency operations, focusing on assessment practices. Exploring policing lens victim-survivor journey together, findings highlight operate with at least three moments (call hander, front-line Safeguarding Hub) point to tensions that result when failing centralise victim-survivors’ own their risk. Using complexity theory, examines complex interplay occurs intersects aspect criminal justice process.
